Fresh and Local

To usher summer into the fall season, Fresh and Local is an exhibition of new art by BWAC members. It covers the gamut of media and styles, from realism to the abstract; sculpture to painting; drawing to photography; and all sorts in between. This show coincides with Red Hook Open Studios, which will occur on October 8 and 9 and the surrounding Red Hook area.

Rust Show

Rust Show is an exhibition of the work of Bonnie Ralston and Joe Banish. These two BWAC members have combined forces to showcase aspects of corrosion to create monoprints. Joe Banish photographs in its natural environment of our city landscape.

Femmes Ensemble

About BWAC

Our Mission: Brooklyn Waterfront Artist Coalition is a non-profit volunteer-run organization that provides opportunities for artists and viewers to share and be transformed by the experience of art.

The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition, BWAC, is a 501c3 non-profit organization, founded in 1978 by artists looking for a place to exhibit. BWAC currently is comprised of more than 100 artist-members who volunteer and run BWAC in various management, board and staff functions.

Our gallery is open from Spring through December and visitors can see, buy, and experience a wide range of member art exhibits, juried shows, performances, and workshops. Additionally, BWAC artists-members are represented on Artsy. The BWAC Gallery is housed on Van Brunt Street in a magnificent 25,000-Square-foot gallery space, a brick Civil War-era warehouse, on the Red Hook waterfront.

The Red Hook waterfront vista, spanning New York Harbor from the Statue of Liberty to the Verrazano Bridge, is one of the best in the city.  Gallery visitors can enjoy nearby restaurants, bars, shopping, and the waterfront promenade—a wonderful day out in Brooklyn.
