Denis Cavallucci, a leading French professor known for bridging academic research with industrial innovation, will keynote the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ (IEEE) seminar at Manhattan University on Thursday, May 29, it was announced today.

Through his dual role as a scholar and innovator, Cavallucci has become a catalyst for modern, inventive thinking. His ongoing projects – including research on integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into design processes – reflect a commitment to evolving how problem-solving is approached.

As a Full Professor of Engineering of Innovation at Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Strasbourg (INSA), Cavallucci has devoted more than 30 years to advancing systematic approaches to creative problem-solving in engineering. He is a leading expert in TRIZ (the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving) – a methodology for structured innovation – and has published extensively on inventive design methods in journals and books. He co-founded and served as president of the European TRIZ Association (ETRIA), helping connect researchers with industry practitioners across Europe. True to his philosophy of turning theory into practice, Cavallucci has been a worldwide lecturer and is listed as co-inventor on 16 patents developed with industrial partners.

The keynote, titled Bridging TRIZ and Industry: Al-Enhanced Innovation Methodologies, will take place on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 4 p.m. ET in the Scala Room, Leo 215, Leo Engineering at Manhattan University.
