The Delorean Sisters play the Creekers Jamboree

August 27, 5 pm8 pm.
$0-$20

Our Creekers Jamboree program celebrates Roots and Americana music on the last Saturday of every month this Summer! This month, we feature the DeLorean Sisters.

The DeLorean Sisters is a Brooklyn-based band that reimagines 1980’s pop, synth, hair metal and shlock hits as alt-country and Americana ditties.  They strip some of the most familiar songs of the decade down to the bone and then reinvent them on largely acoustic instruments.  Their innovative arrangements of songs by David Bowie, The Eurythmics, Depeche Mode, Danzig and others will make you hear these old songs in a completely new light.

In the mid 1800s, Creekers & Pointers were terms used for rival gangs of the Roosters, a band of thugs that frequented South Brooklyn and Gowanus.  This season, the Gowanus Dredgers are reconnecting Gowanus regulars and visitors with events at our Canal.  We hope to offer Saturday voyages before shows south of the active EPA cleanup (location : TBD) but stop by our boathouse for some hootin’ good times as the sun sets.

It’s free to attend but donations are encouraged and reservations at $10 are available for the front two rows & one complimentary beverage. If raining, event will be hosted in The Gowanus Dredgers’ Boathouse with open doors for ventilation. Attendees may be required to provide proof of vaccination (physical/digital card or Excelsior pass) and a corresponding photo ID.  We kindly ask that you not attend the event if you are experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or you have recently come into close contact (within six [6] feet for more than fifteen [15] minutes) with someone infected with COVID-19.

The Creekers Jamboree and Roots Music on the Gowanus is sponsored by Boston Beer Co., the Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club and the Brooklyn Arts Fund (BAF) / Charlene Victor and Ella J. Weiss Cultural Entrepreneur Fund is sponsored, in part, by the Greater New York Arts Development Fund of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs administered by Brooklyn Arts Council.
